Education
Emarika and Salika Pre-school Graduation 2009
Pre-School
In 2007 Sethule completed building its second pre-school named Salika. This school is situated at Halale, 5km from Natisa where the Emarika pre-school is found. Currently each pre-school has about 50 students. The schools are registered with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Education and the teachers have all received the required approval, following a training programme conducted by Sethule. The pre-schools provide basic learning in English, Counting and Art.
Primary School
After a Graduation Ceremony the children move to the local primary schools. Sethule is in partnership with Halale, Whitewater and Induna Primary and Pre-schools. Thus backing all 6 Primary and Pre-schools in the local area. These schools are located deep in the rural area making access difficult and therefore basic resources are lacking. Sethule also helps provide educational materials and pays school fees for orphans.
Senior School
Sethule also works with the local secondary school, mostly by providing text books and other teaching materials. In particular Sethule provides a library for use by secondary school students. It also backs a scholarship program to suitably qualified orphans for secondary and tertiary education.
Adult Literacy
Depending on demand Sethule provides an adult literacy programme. In the past 2 years young people from the community were chosen for adult literacy training. After training, classes started in June 2006.
